SUNSET HOUSE BY TOPOS DESIGN STUDIO
Situated in a cul-de-sac in a fashionable district of Bukit Timah, Singapore is the Sunset House, a beautiful example of holistic architectural design. The house has a U shaped floor plan which becomes visible upon entering the pool area. Full height sliding louver and glass doors allow for ventilation in every room of the house. The site was carefully selected and oriented to allow for optimal use of both morning and night breezes. A 4 tone colour palette is consistent throughout the home included furniture and accents which provides a serene atmosphere that does not take away from the architectural characteristics of the house. The exterior walls set the tone of the home with flamed Kur Grey granite and marble is the most predominant interior material, covering surfaces, partitions, and floors.
The LivingHomeC6 by LivingHomes in collaboration with Make It Right and architect William McDonough, is the first lower-cost, zero-energy, zero-carbon and LEED Platinum® level production home.
The C6 was designed in partnership with Make it Right, a nonprofit organization founded by Brad Pitt and architect William McDonough. Using Cradle-to-Cradle inspired materials, they will build 150 affordable, sustainable homes in New Orleans Lower Ninth Ward, the neighborhood that was hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina and a portion of the proceeds from each house will help support the efforts of Make It Right.
This 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1232 square foot house has a clean and modern design with an open floor plan and lots of hidden storage. There are a generous amount of windows throughout allowing for potentially spectacular views and bringing in a lot of natural light. Lots of natural light = happy people, and you could be one of these happy people for only $179,000 (145/sf), two months of construction, and one day of on-site installation.
